Art Deco Handpainted Floral Wood Bookends Book EndsDating to the Art Deco era, here's a pair of hand painted bookends book ends in an elegant romantic shabby chic style. The set might possibly have been made in Italy although manufacture in the US is not out of the question. The pieces are either formed from wood composite or barbola it's hard to tell; felt bottoms on the base. The pieces were made in 2 sections and the joinder seam is apparent at the back of the pair. The center design is that of a little girl carrying a basket of flowers and a lacy red heart

the sentiment is I LOVE YOU

then all that's needed is a bit of paper to cover the reverse

Use as it was meant or display in a baby collection

Now the frame is not without its faults - the back cardboard has torn at the top where the ring is located

The box measures 4-1/4" high x 6-1/2" long

this is the only frame I have ever found of this type

A light clean with make the piece already prettier than it is
